What Kids Do at OpenJoy Camp
Every day at camp combines movement, creativity, and thinking.
Children stay active, curious, and engaged throughout the entire day.
  • MOVE
    Sports, outdoor games, swimming, and team challenges keep kids active throughout the day.
  • CREATE
    Creative workshops, experiments, building projects, and hands-on activities.
  • THINK
    Quests, puzzles, critical thinking activities, and age-appropriate exploration of technology and AI.
A Typical Day at Summer Camp
Our camp day follows a structured rhythm that combines movement, learning, creativity, swimming, and free play, while still allowing flexibility depending on weather, group interests, and special activities.
All children are always supervised by counselors and camp staff throughout the day, including during free play and swimming time.

Our goal is to create a day that is active, balanced, and joyful for every child.

Arrival
Children arrive at camp and begin the day with a flexible breakfast period.
Breakfast is available during this time, and campers may eat shortly after arrival.
Typical options include:

Morning Exercise
The camp day begins with morning exercise and movement activities to energize the children for the day ahead.

Group Rotations
During the late morning, campers rotate between different activities in their groups.

These rotations may include:
  • Swimming in the pool
  • Sports activities (such as soccer and outdoor games)
  • Creative workshops and crafts
  • Critical thinking activities and interactive games
While one group is swimming, other groups participate in sports, workshops, or creative activities. Groups rotate so that every child experiences multiple activities.
This schedule allows children to stay active and enjoy outdoor time before the hottest part of the day.

Lunch & Quiet Time
Lunch is prepared for the camp each day.
Campers have lunch followed by a relaxed rest period.

Examples of meals include:

The afternoon brings the entire camp together for larger group activities.
These may include:

This is a fun, collaborative time where campers work together and enjoy shared camp experiences.

Dinner / Snack
Campers receive a light meal in the afternoon.

Pizza is served on Fridays.

Free Play & Pickup
The day ends with relaxed free play while parents arrive for pickup.
Children may:
  • Swim in the pool
  • Play games with friends
  • Participate in light activities
Camp staff continue to supervise all activities until every child has been picked up.
ELRC Child Care Subsidy

Payment Options
You can reserve your child’s spot in two ways:

Option 1 — Deposit
Pay the deposit for the first week to reserve your child’s spot for the summer camp.

Option 2 — Pay for the Full Season
You may also choose to pay for the entire summer in advance and receive a 10% discount, which is equivalent to one free week of camp.

Sibling Discount

Families registering more than one child from same family receive a 10% sibling discount on all weeks after the first week.

The deposit for the first week is required in full for each child in order to reserve their spots.
The sibling discount is applied to all following weeks of the camp season.
